In our business operations, we have established the following policies to contribute to global carbon neutrality.

SBT goals

Hoso Sangyo received the “SBT Initiative (Science Based Targets initiative)” certification in November 2022.

Promote a 42% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1 and 2) by 2030 compared to 2021.
Measure and minimize greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 3)

*The established goals are ambitiously recognized by current processes and certified to the 1.5°C standard.

・Reduce environmental impact.
・Use renewable energy.
・Promote the transition from electricity to renewable energy.
・Continuously optimize energy usage by upgrading equipment and investing in new technologies.
・Set transparent goals and disclose information in line with the Paris Agreement.

SBT (Science Based Targets initiative) is a joint initiative of WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project), WRI (World Resources Institute), and the United Nations Global Compact, which assesses and confirms whether the reduction targets are scientifically sound to achieve the goal of “keeping global average temperature rise below 2 degrees Celsius” as outlined in the Paris Agreement.
